Tender Bidding Platform with Joint Bidding and Claim Management
Project Overview
This project focused on building a tender bidding platform where different companies could bid on tenders and view important details such as eligibility, requirements, and other bidders. The platform allowed for joint bidding, enabling companies to collaborate on tenders. Users could also lodge claims related to any disputes or issues regarding tenders. I worked jointly with another software team from Nepal to deliver this project.
Core Features
- Tender Viewing and Bidding: Companies can browse available tenders, check eligibility, view requirements, and submit bids.
- Joint Bidding: Companies can participate in joint bids, collaborating to increase their chances of winning tenders.
- Lodging Claims: Companies can lodge and track claims against tenders, ensuring fair tendering processes.
- Bidder Information: Users can view other bidders, providing transparency in the bidding process.
Workflow
-
Tender Bidding:
- Companies access the platform, browse tenders, and view eligibility criteria.
- Eligible companies submit bids, and joint bidders collaborate on shared tenders.
-
Joint Bidding:
- Multiple companies can form a joint bid, allowing them to pool resources and enhance their bidding strategy.
-
Claim Lodging:
- Companies can lodge claims if disputes arise, which are handled and tracked via the claim management system.
-
Bidder Transparency:
- The platform provides visibility into other bidders, allowing companies to adjust their bidding strategies accordingly.
Technologies Used
- Apache Struts 2: The platform’s backend framework, providing MVC architecture for managing tenders, bids, and users.
- MySQL: The relational database used to store tender, bid, claim, and user information.
- Collaboration with Nepal Team: Worked jointly with a software team from Nepal to integrate features and manage project delivery.
Impact and Benefits
- Efficient Bidding Process: Companies can efficiently bid on tenders, simplifying the tendering workflow and improving outcomes.
- Enhanced Collaboration: By enabling joint bidding, the platform fosters collaboration between companies, allowing them to pool their strengths for better bids.
- Transparency in Bidding: By providing access to other bidders' information, companies can make more strategic and competitive bids.
- Claim Resolution: With a dedicated claim management system, the platform ensures fair dispute resolution, increasing trust in the tendering process.
This project highlights my experience in:
- Developing tender management platforms with features for bidding, joint participation, and claims management.
- Collaboration with international software teams for large-scale project development.
- Backend development using Apache Struts 2 and database management with MySQL.
Conclusion
The tender bidding platform demonstrates my ability to design and implement scalable systems for business-critical operations like tender management, joint bidding, and claim resolution. Built using Apache Struts 2 and MySQL, this project also showcases my skills in collaborating with international teams, as I worked closely with a software team from Nepal to deliver the project.
